Arthur Koestler was born in 1905 in Budapest to a Hungarian-Jewish merchant family. A sought-after journalist for the German press, he gave up his career in the early 1930s and joined the Communist Party of Germany. He finally broke with it after the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and became an uncompromising critic of communism.

Published 1965, Format 225 x 135 mm, 298s.

Published by the Literary Institute in Paris, in the series Library of "Culture" (volume 71).

Piece in BDB condition, minimal soiling and creasing of the spine.
