Slawomir Zawada (born March 25, 1900 in Strumien, died September 1, 1981 in Glasgow) - Polish historian, medievalist, archivist, academic teacher, Polish activist and publicist, captain of the Polish Army, student of Prof. Kazimierz Tymieniecki]. Founding member of the Polish Scientific Society Abroad. Co-founder of the General Sikorski Historical Institute in London and head of its Glasgow branch. One of the main authors of the Historical Topics (along with Gen. Marian Kukiel). He dealt with Polish-Scandinavian relations under the first Piasts and the history of the Crusades. He prepared an extensive program for the study of Pomerania. He collected records of Polish military formations in the West. He published numerous treatises on cultural history. He published a volume of sources from Danish archives, from 1526-1572, concerning Poland" (Wikipedia).
