Charles Kingsley (1819-1875) was an Anglican priest, writer, historian and professor at Kings College in London and Cambridge University. A friend and supporter of Darwin. Chaplain to Queen Victoria and personal tutor to Prince Edward VII. Toward the end of his life a canon of Chester Cathedral, then Westminster.
