Stephen King's most famous novel series, written between 1970 and 2004.

The series combines the leitmotifs of many genres: elements of fantasy, science fiction, horror literature and westerns. The whole consists of 7 novels, characters, worlds and references to other books by the same author appear.

On a barren, parched earth, resembling a planet after an apocalyptic holocaust or one of the parallel worlds existing alongside our own, only traces of a former fallen civilization remain.

This sinister world is traversed by Roland, the last of a proud clan of revolvers, pursuing the Man in Black, who has possessed the secret of the Tower - a mystical place where perhaps the riddle of time or space can be solved. During his trek, he must confront a possessed priestess: he encounters crazed settlers, a talking raven, underground-dwelling mutants and a boy from Earth, Jake.
