Typographically beautiful print. The original woodcuts by Skoczylas illustrating the poem are among the most famous works by this artist!
The cover is decorated with a full-page "Robber jumping over the fire" (woodcut titles after: T. Cieślewski son "Władysław Skoczylas, initiator and creator of contemporary woodcut in Poland", War. 1934, p. 113) with the title and the name of the book's author embedded, four woodcuts on plates: "In the brick cellar", "Robbers' march" (fold-out), "Love scene" and "Robbers under the castle" (fold-out), four vignettes: "Robber with a shotgun", "Tree" (reflected twice), "Gallows", "Mogilka", four initials: B - "Robber with a ciupaga", A - "Girl crying", H - "Mountains", Z - "Orava Castle".
