The script of the series was inspired by an 18-episode TV series broadcast in 1967-1968 and a three-part novel by A, Szypulski and Z. Safjan (under the collective pseudonym A. Zbych). The title character of the comic strip was given the features of Stanislaw Mikulski, who played the main role in the TV series. With the other characters this treatment was not applied, and the comic Brunner in no way resembles Emil Karewicz.
