Life of St. John Kanty, also known as John of Kęty or John Wacięga. - Kanty was born in Kety on June 24, 1390. He was a Polish Roman Catholic presbyter, a professor at the University of Krakow and a saint of the Catholic Church. After graduating from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Krakow, he was ordained a priest. He then headed the Monastery School of the Holy Sepulchre in Miechow, where he began transcribing manuscripts, which became his lifelong passion. From 1429 he taught at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, and later took up theological studies. He was known for his deep piety, charity and commitment to teaching young people. He made pilgrimages to Rome. He died on December 24, 1473 in Cracow. He was beatified by Pope Innocent XI in 1680 and canonized by Pope Clement XIII in 1767. The work offered was created on the occasion of this canonization.
Michelangelo Barbiellini was born in Rome in late 1733 as the son of typographer and bookseller Giovanni Lorenzo Barbiellini (1689?-1748). He was educated at the Seminario Romano. He was a publisher and printer active in Rome in the 18th century. His publishing house published works in various fields, including literature and music. In 1775, he published the book Dubbio by Antonio Eximeno, Giambattista Martini and his own authorship. He died in 1793.
