BRZOZOWSKI Karol - Lake "Soul". Lithuanian legend. Dramatic picture in three scenes. Music by Mieczyslaw Soltys. Lvov 1921; druk. Jakubowski & Sp. 4, pp. [19]. pamphlet.
First page a bit dusty, taped tears of extreme pages, unpatched folds. Lithographic reprint of the author's manuscript created twenty years before publication. Issued 200 copies, this one No. 136. On the last page, text signed crypt. M.O., which reads: "The work, written for the Lvov stage, did not appear in the light of the scones, or the name of the poet-faris [...] was the best voucher for it [...]. Stronger than these circumstances was the will of the censors, who saw in the work [...] an allusion to the possessiveness of modern Teutonic knights - and did not allow the Lithuanian legend on the stage. Nor did it appear in print." The National Library's online catalog lists Franciszek Biesiadecki as the publisher. Infrequent.
