Poem by Juliusz Slowacki written in the summer of 1838, probably in Florence. It was published a year later in Paris. The text is preceded by an introduction by Bishop Władysław Bandurski. The work depicts the story of an Arab who was deprived of everything he loved - his family - by the plague. In the work, hope is intertwined with despair. The man recounts the stages of quarantine and the subsequent deaths of those closest to him. The offered anniversary edition was published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Juliusz Słowacki's birth.
