On the front a colorful composition showing a lancer at his horse against a background of a tent; the whole closed with a wide geometric-floristic border. Text printed in decorative linear frames, each song begun with an elaborate initial.
Juliusz Kossak's drawings in the text (18) and on separate plates (6), all signed, reproduced in woodcut; the blocks were engraved by Z. Szymanski and A. Zajkowski. At the end, explanatory notes to the third edition, notes, several pages of text on horses (races, coloration, varieties, etc.). Printed at Brockhaus in Leipzig.
Preservation condition: slight rubbing of binding, few spots, after conservation, including strengthening of block, new capitals, otherwise good condition.
