Jan Wiktor - Polish writer, publicist, journalist, folk activist. He made his debut as a publicist in 1912 in the radical press in Galicia. He worked, among others, in "Gazeta Podhalanska", on the editorial board of "Przyjaciel Ludu", and later for some time in the Spa Commission in Szczawnica. Together with Leon Kruczkowski, he organized the monthly magazine "Twórczość". From 1945 he was a member of the National Council, and from autumn 1952 he was a member of the Sejm of the first term (1952-1956) from the Podhale region. In 1953 he signed the so-called Cracow Appeal. He was a member of the National Committee of the Front for Unity of the Nation in 1958. His contribution to the popularization of the Pieniny Mountains was recognized, naming one of the Pieniny nature reserves, the Homole Gorge, after him.
