"For 25 years he served as chief librarian of the society, managing the purchase of books and supplying individual establishments, with which he exposed himself to numerous harassments from the partitioning authorities. As a delegate to the Pozn. As a delegate to the Poznañ Chamber of Physicians he stigmatized those German physicians who received state subsidies for settling in Poznañ for Germanization purposes (the so-called Jerzykowski Antrag)".
