Hanna Januszewska-Moszyńska (born April 20, 1905 in Warsaw, died July 18, 1980 there) - Polish prose writer, poet, translator, author of plays and radio dramas. She graduated from the Faculty of Polish Studies at Warsaw University, and made her debut with a volume of poems entitled "Poezje." During World War II she took part in secret teaching and worked in underground publishing houses. After the end of hostilities, she settled in Lodz, where she became an editor at the local branch of Polish Radio, and returned to Warsaw in 1948. She worked with magazines aimed at the youngest readers, "Płomyczek", "Płomyk" (with which she was already associated before 1939), "Miś" and "Świerszczyk". Her work included poems, fairy tales and short stories, which were often based on folk tales, Polish folklore and historical events. In recognition of her pedagogical values, Hanna Januszewska was repeatedly decorated and nominated for state awards (Prime Minister's Award, Premio Europeo Award). The book Fairy Tales of the Four Winds is included in the Honorary List of H.Ch. Andersen. In addition to her own work, the writer was a translator and made adaptations and studies of the works of other authors, including Maria Konopnicka, Charles Perrault and Hans Christian Andersen. Her works have been translated into many foreign languages.
