On the frontispiece page, the author's handwritten dedication, dated August 14, 1942 in New York, to Anatol Mühlstein (1889-1957) - Polish diplomat, Counsellor of the Polish Embassy in Brussels and Chargé d'affaires in Brussels, Counsellor of the Polish Embassy in Paris, businessman, publicist. Lechon's first émigré volume of poetry; the previous one, Silver and Black, was published in 1924. Contains 17 poems, including: On the Death of Joseph Conrad, Norwid, Song about Stefan Starzynski, Last Scene from "Dziady". Bekwark, mentioned in the title, was a Hungarian 16th century virtuoso lutenist.
