"The edition, innovative and modern, became a milestone in the evolution of Polish scholarly editing, harmonizing with the methodological postulates of editing presented at the First Jan Kochanowski Historical and Literary Congress in 1884 in Krakow. Although not fully in line with today's requirements, against the background of the practice of editing in the 19th century, it represents a major achievement by a team of philologists and historians in the selection of the textual basis, the presentation of the text, the critical apparatus, the editorial commentary, the typographical layout, the facsimile of the manuscript. It is an achievement associated, among others, with the former environment of the Warsaw Main School" (M. M. Kacprzak "Z dziejów wydania pomnikowego 'Dzie wszystkim' Jana Kochanowskiego (Warsaw 1884-1897)").
