Notes: Piece from the library of Tadeusz Maciejka with his ownership signature in pencil. Very rare item.
The catalog covers the works alphabetically by country (mainly Europe, also USA and other non-European countries: Brazil, China, Japan) and then by author's name. It includes the author's surname and first name, the title of the work and the photographic technique for a total of 523 photographs, in addition, works exhibited by Kodak 171 photographs and exhibitions by Ernst Leitz 98 photographs.
- Tadeusz Maciejko (14.05.1903 Gwoździec district (Kolomyja district) - 23.06.1979 Gliwice) Polish photographer. Member of the Union of Polish Art Photographers (ZPAF) Silesian Branch in Katowice since 1953. Photographed since 1930, was a lab technician at J. Bujak's company in Lviv. In 1935-1937 he studied architecture at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute. From 1933 he was a member of the Technical (Technician) Circle of Amateur Photographers in Lviv, and later of the Lviv Photographic Society (LTF), where he organized nationwide exhibitions of photography. In 1936 he went to Berlin studying avant-garde photographic and film issues, which he transplanted to Poland. From 1940, he taught photography at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute, in addition, 1942 he organized the Department of Photography at the former School of Art Industry (SPA) in Lviv. Since 1945 he settled permanently in Gliwice, opened here a photographic agency "Gliwice Photographic Agency" (1947-1950), then worked in Gliwice and Katowice in various capacities mainly in professions related to photography and film, retired since 1973. Member of the Gliwice Branch of the Polish Photographic Society (PTF) since 1951. Founding member (1961) and President of the Board of the Gliwice Photographic Society (GTF). Participated in art photography exhibitions since 1934. His pre-war work was among the forefront of the Polish avant-garde, his post-war work was much more traditionalist; see Saturday 2022 mainly pp. 20-21; Photographers 1946-2006 pp. 251-252 and other materials. He played an inspiring role in the work of Jerzy Lewczynski (1924-2014). Piece with slightly bent corners, binding heavily damaged and stained, handwritten notes in pencil from the period on the face and private ownership entry, block slightly damaged and stained. Item in good condition
