The convention was attended by societies from Warsaw, Cracow, Brody, Sambor, Stanislawow, Stryj and Lviv, among others.
The book contains, among other things, the program of the convention, selected songs, the program of the concert in the hall of the City Theater in Lviv.
From the introduction:"Polish singing societies gathered in Lviv to form a Union to promote Polish music in the country; a simple thing, choral in the first place. One thought, equal aspirations, common work, mutual assistance in artistic existence, collective performance of works requiring vocal hosts, this is the spiritual and material essence of the Union!".
