Christoph Wilhelm Friedrich Hufeland (born August 12, 1762 in Langensalza, died August 25, 1836 in Berlin) was a German physician who coined the term macrobiotics.
Hufeland was the personal physician to King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia.
His most widely known work is Macrobiotics is the art of prolonging human life (Makrobiotik oder Die Kunst, das menschliche Leben zu verlängern, 1796).
