Binding in very good condition, on pages soiled, rust spots, browning, traces of flooding, upper corner of pages with traces of overburning (without interference with text), initial and final pages glued. The Iliad - next to the "Odyssey" the second of the epics whose authorship is attributed to Homer. The works are the oldest monuments of Greek and European literature in general. The theme of this heroic epic is the wrath of Achilles and the related episodes of the Trojan War. The second volume was followed by Voltaire's Poem on the Collapse of Lisbona, also translated by Staszic.
