The Herbert Foundation website reads: "Letters to the Muse [...] were intended by the publisher to form the True Story of Infinite Love. Meanwhile, they are more of a legal case and an editorial caution. Published carelessly, without the consent and knowledge of the heirs, in violation of copyright law, they were [...] withdrawn from the bookstore market. However, they deserve attention because they give the reader a unique insight into the poet's life even before the publication of the debut volume."
