Prepared at a high level of content and publishing, the publication is the result of scientific work of Polish and German researchers. The catalog is a compendium of knowledge about the architect and his work, and is also a valuable source of information about the cultural life of Wroclaw at the turn of the century. The first part of the publication, entitled "Art and Culture of Breslau at the Turn of the 19th and 20th Centuries," discusses Poelzig's work for the theater, the activities of the Union of Silesian Artists, the Breslau Academy of Arts and Crafts, and the city's rich musical life.
The texts included in the rest of the book describe Poelzig's architectural work, including the industrial architecture of Upper Silesia, conservation activities and the reception of Poelzig's work in Poland after 1945. The next section contains an in-depth stium of the exhibitions designed by the Wroclaw architect in 1904, 1911 and 1914. The entire book closes with source texts, a catalog of Poelzig's works created between 1900 and 1916, a complete list of his plans and projects in the collection of the Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw.
