Unw. dustwrapper and rubbing of covers, yellowing of pages, otherwise good condition. Seweryn Goszczyński (1801 - 1876) - Polish social activist, revolutionary, writer and poet of Polish Romanticism. He became famous as the author of patriotic poems and one of the leading members of Andrzej Towianski's messianic group. He is known to his contemporaries especially for his poetic novel The Castle of Kaniowski and his gothic novel The King of Castles. Along with Antoni Malczewski and Józef Bohdan Zaleski, he is counted among the "Ukrainian school" of Polish Romanticism.
