Kraków 1985, Oficyna Literacka; H: 30 cm, pp. 48, 10 plates with color illustrations by Jan Lebenstein. Hardcover. Good state of preservation.
Bibliophile print, of an underground publishing house and one of the first second-circulation publications containing color illustrations.
George Orwell's novel Animal Farm, as well as Jan Lebenstein's series of lithographs, are allegorical representations of Stalinism, communism and any totalitarianism.
It is worth recalling that the illustrations (including the graphic portfolio "Animal Farm") by Jan Lebenstein to George Orwell's Animal Farm were created in exile in Paris, at a time when Poland was under the communist regime imposed by the USSR.
