GENEALOGICAL TREE OF THE PIASTS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIPS TO EUROPEAN DYNASTIES. Genealogical tree of the Polish rulers by N. Geudeville, illustrated with coats of arms of the states and principalities from the 4th volume of Atlas historique, ou Nouvelle Introduction à l`histoire, a la chronologie et a la Geographie Ancienne et Moderne...; published by Z. Chatelain, at the Chatelain Brothers' Bookshop in Amsterdam, 1705-1739, copper. color, st. bdb., folds; sheet dimensions: ca. 990x435 mm, plate dimensions: ca. 940x380.
The first branch depicts the mythical rulers of the Polans from Popiel to Lech, then from Piast to Ziemowit, ending with Mieszko. The right stem lists the rulers from Boleslaw the Brave to Boleslaw the Wrymouth. The line of the Mazovian and Kuyavian princes was covered in detail. All kings from the Piasts to the first Saxon were also listed. It is also shown how St. Leszczynski was a descendant of the Piasts: through the dukes of Pomerania, whose representative married the Duke of Mecklenburg, a duchess from this line married the Duke of Courland Gotard Kettler, his daughter Alexandra married Radziwill, and their daughter in turn married Boguslaw Leszczynski. And so Stanislaw Leszczynski could boast of his descent from the Piasts.
The plaque shows the Piasts' connections to 30 ruling houses from Europe: France, Savoy, Sweden, the Palatinate, Saxony, Florence, Brandenburg, Prussia, Scotland, Württemberg, Austria, etc., etc. NOUVELLE CARTE GENEALOGIQUE DES SOVERAINES ET DES FAMILLES ILLUSTRES ALIEZ A LA MAISON OUAUX DECENDANS DE LA FAMILLE ROIALLE DE PIASTE ROI DE POLOGNE AVEC LE BLASON DE LEURS ARMES.
