[GDAŃSK, Free City]. Typed letter from Henryk Strasburger, Commissioner General of the Republic of Poland in Danzig, regarding the possibility of purchasing antiquarian books, dated. 4 Aug. 1926 in Danzig.
Double-sided letter on 3 pages form. 21x16.4 cm. Correspondence paper printed "Le Commissaire Général de la République de Pologne". The author addresses a letter to an unnamed MP. He informs that a researcher at Univ. of Kaunas, Ignas Joncynas, has asked for help in acquiring the out-of-print publications of the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cracow. Strasburger hereby forwards this request, informing that he has already contacted Warsaw bookstores (including "antiquarian Vilderer" (sic!)) - to no avail. The letter contains 7 titles, including: Codex epistolaris saeculi decimi quinti, Mendog - King of Lithuania, Collection of Acts of the Polish-Lithuanian Union, Sanguszko Princes' Archive. Under the text, handwritten signature of Henry Strasburger. Trace of a crease, minor abrasions.
