A rare seventeenth-century print [ woodblock ] in Latin from the defunct Library of the Cistercian Abbey in Kamieniec Ząbkowicki, as evidenced by the superexpress on the front and back covers.

On the title page of this work an early 19th century seal of the patrimonial court of the town of Kamieniec Ząbkowicki.
In the central field of the seal one can see a coat-of-arms cartouche like the one on the top of the facade of Kamieniec Palace of Marianne of Orange.
The cartouche of this seal is composed of a coat of arms depicting a white eagle and a coat ofarms with a crowned lion - the main emblem of the coat of arms of the Orange dynasty, from which Marianne was the most important owner of Kamieniec after the dissolution of the Cistercian Order by the Prussian authorities [1810]. Together with her spouse, Prince Albrecht Hohenzollern , Marianne built a monumental palace .

Binding light leather on board impressively decorated with ornaments and with superexlibris of the Cistercian Abbey in Kamieniec Ząbkowicki in the central part of the covers. [ The ex-libris is faintly visible - it depicts the 17th century abbey coat of arms : The coat of arms divided into a cross with a heart shield and a mitre in a jewel. In fields I and IIIa chequered beam - the so-called beam of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, in fields II and IV a lion ascending behind a lattice. In the heart shield a black cross ( the so-called Morimonde cross). On the sides of the coat of arms the titular / personal initials AA DC. ].
Covers fastened with decorated brass buckles [top one with slight damage ], page edges stained maroon.
In places visible traces of " woodworm" otherwise near perfect condition.
Rare very well preserved seventeenth-century print with excellent provenance and interesting subject matter.
