A rare collection of legends.
Fijalkowski Gracjan was a Polish writer, historian, researcher of Poland's Slavic past and the period of Nazi occupation. Military traditions in the family, perpetuated by the participation of older brothers in the fights for an independent Poland (Gen. Czeslaw Młot-Fijałkowski POW "Młot"; Lt. Col. Stefan Fijałkowski, 1899-1966 AK "Baca" "Młotek"; Rt. Col. Kajetan Fijałkowski 1915-1975 AK "Rafał") decided to choose a similar path in life. The four brothers were awarded many decorations including each of them - the Order of Virtuti Militari. So when World War II broke out, he took part in it as an officer in the Polish Army, and later as a partisan of the Home Army. For these activities he was arrested and imprisoned in the German concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, and later in other camps.
