Manuscript on parchment, written in the "geez" language (ancient Semitic language of the Kingdom of Aksum). The manuscript was probably written in the 2nd half of the 18th century. Contains ca. 158 parchment pages with text in black and red, binding: secondary board without spine. Format 15.5 x 10.5 cm.
Parchment pages, yellowed, somewhat soiled, no. traces of flooding and dampness, non. losses of a few pages without damage to the text, indistinct stamps on the last page. Text clear and legible in black and red. Individual pages bound with string. Two pen illustrations, on the first two cards, probably made later (St. Mary and St. George). Contains psalms and other sacred tesktas, including prayers. The Ethiopian Church, an autonomous Christian community recognizes the supremacy of the Coptic Patriarch of Alexandria. The final shape in liturgical ritual, was given in the 14th-16th centuries, as a result of the accommodation of Alexandrian liturgy to the native African culture, influenced by Judaism.
