Leaflet promoting the candidacy of Emanuel and Helena for the Polish throne: "The moment of realization of the demands and ideals of the Polish people is approaching. An independent, united Poland with access to the sea will rise and our banners will fly over Poznan, Gdansk, Warsaw, Vilna, Krakow and Lvov. A new anointed king will sit on the Polish throne, developing the Piast and Jagiellonian traditions. The Polish king must come from a country whose interests must not conflict with those of Poland. It is known to all that the essential aspiration of the Germanic race is to wipe out the Polish element from the face of the earth; therefore, the Polish people will not accept any German candidate, whether Hohenzollern, Habsburg or any vassal of the Central States. The coalition, that is, the whole civilized world, vouching for our independence, wishes to introduce to the Polish throne Emmanuel Duke of Aosta, the cousin brother of the Italian king."
