Catalog accompanying the exhibition "Polish Exlibris. Between the Coat of Arms and the Image" commemorating the 500th anniversary of Polish exlibris. In 1516 the first Polish book mark was made for Maciej Drzewicki, Grand Crown Chancellor and Primate of Poland.
The exhibits in the exhibition are divided into six groups.
The first brings together old exlibrises - coat of arms book marks of various private and ordination libraries.
The second is library signs and labels used in monastic libraries and non-heraldic signs.
The third - ex-librises by Kajetan Wincenty Kielisinski, which were not intended for books, but to enrich collectors' collections.
The fourth - library ink stamps.
The fifth brings together Young Poland exlibrises. These are outstandingly artistic works created as graphic miniatures. Their authors were the most outstanding artists around 1900,
The sixth - examples of exlibris from the 2nd half of the 20th century, when it becomes a small graphic form. Works by Jozef Gielniak, Jerzy Panek and Alina Kalczynska.
