Włodzimierz Dzieduszycki (1825-1899) - landowner, first Ordynat Poturzycki, patron of science, Speaker of the Galician National Sejm and member of the House of Lords of the Austrian Council of State, naturalist.
Initially a private and amateur collection of various creations of animate and inanimate nature, founded in 1855, lying in crates in Zarzecz, Poturzyca and Lviv, gradually - until 1875 - was transformed into a huge, professionally run museum. On September 10, 1880, on the occasion of the Emperor's arrival in Lviv, he donated the Natural History Museum he had created to the nation and secured its existence by creating the Poturzycka Ordinance in 1893.
