Adolf Karol Dygacz (1914 - 2004) - ethnographer, musicologist, folklorist, expert on Upper Silesian and Zagłębie culture.
Jerzy Pitera (1933 - 2007) - stage designer associated with the Silesian Theater in Katowice, the Zagłębie Theater in Sosnowiec and the Ludwik Solski Theater in Tarnów.
Tadeusz Grabowski (1929 - 2020) - graphic designer, lived and worked in Katowice. Professor of graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Initiator and organizer of the Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice. Juror of the Poster Biennale in Warsaw and Katowice. Repeatedly awarded medals in poster competitions. Author of the portrait Man of the Year 1989 - Lech Walesa for "El Periodico" in Barcelona in 1989.
Julian Krzyzanowski (1892 - 1976) - Polish scholar, literary historian, folklorist, researcher of folk literature, teacher, professor and academic lecturer, educator.
