Memories from the Kiev region (1918-1920) is the author's debut novel, included in the list of the most outstanding Polish literary works for the year 1925 by a resolution of the International Commission for Intellectual Cooperation in the League of Nations. The scene of events depicted here is Ukraine - a land inhabited by various nations and states, a land torn by turbulent events of history; and the heroes are Polish landowners, faithful to the myth of the Borderlands and the conviction of the peculiar mission performed by them in these areas.
