Louis XIV and His Age is a historical account written by Alexandre Dumas and first published in 1844. It was published shortly after the novel Les Trois Mousquetaires. The work offers a portrait of King Louis XIV and his reign from 1643 to 1715. The story returns to the Fronde period, but also to the literary and social context of the time. The author tells the story of court life, artistic wealth and the impact of Louis XIV's reign on the world.
