From the text: "In the basic part of its program, Formism is based on a fundamental, absolute, nihilistic criticism of the hitherto existing relation of form to content in a work of art, of that which is so fundamental to all art: 'the relation of expression to the thing expressed.' Thus, the fundamental cornerstone and bones of the aesthetic system of Formism is the assumption that 'the essence of all art', 'the only essential content of a work of art' is 'form and only form'.
