Stanislaw Maria Jan Teofil Szeptycki (1867-1950) - Polish military officer, count, major general of the imperial and royal armies, general-in-chief of the Polish Army, commander of the Polish Legions, chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army (1918-1919) and minister of military affairs of the Second Republic (1923).
In the war of 1920 he was commander of the 4th Army. Since May 17, 1920, he combined his duties as army commander with his position as commander of the "General Sheptytsky Front", which included three armies (1st, 4th and 7th). On July 5, 1920, he became commander of the Northeastern Front, and handed over the duties of commander of the 4th Army to General Leonard Skierski. In the latter position he led the retreating battles until July 30, 1920. On August 1, 1920, he was forced to leave his post due to a severe illness (dysentery) and disagreements with Jozef Pilsudski. [after wikipedia.pl]
