"The Warsaw publisher entrusted the care of the layout of this monumental edition to perhaps the best expert on Old Polish books of the time, Kazimierz Piekarski, who used woodcuts and ornaments from the resources of Polish presses of the 16th and 17th centuries to illustrate this print, and included on the title page a frame copied from the frontispiece of the first edition of Jan Kochanowski's Fraszki. The entirety of this edition, however, was overseen by MEWA: source: Jan Straus, Now cover, Warsaw 2021, p. 400(vol. 2)
