CZOŁOWSKI Alexander Dr. How it was in Lviv. A reply to Professor Stanisław Grabski. Lviv 1918. reprinted from the St. Petersburg "National Journal".
Pp. 36. h. 21.6. cloth binding wsp. gilt lettering on spine. Stamps of the library of Wilhelm Lyczkowski. Pen entries (occasional). Ex-libris.
Written in St. Petersburg in 1917, the response is set against the backdrop of events related to the Russian occupation of the city of Lviv, as well as the subsequent significant geopolitical polemics. The author cites the story of his capture by the ochrana and release thanks to the patronage of, among others, the city's mayor, Tadeusz Rutowski. The work is strongly polemical against the representative of the National Democrats, Stanislaw Grabski. Czolowski accuses Grabski of servility to Russia, as well as of pitting the country against the Central Powers, including Germany. "Poland is being buried again by its own 'patrjoci', who want to rule it, if only - on the ruins."
Rare.
