Vol. 1-2 [complete in 2 vols.]
On their spirit, sources, connection and rulings contained in the first Statute for Lithuania, 1529 issued.
Edited by Jozef Turowski. With fold-out tables.
The author used the collections of the arch. of the city. Danzig and many works of Danzig scholars and works about the city, through which he included a lot of source information about Danzig itself and the whole of Pomerania, e.g. in Volume I he discussed the law of composition for Danzig, in Volume II he included a tabl. illustrating the export of grain by Danzig.
Tadeusz Czacki's most important work. "He gave in this work a summary of the previously unprinted First Statute, and in the notes he included a great deal of news from the history of Polish law, mainly from sources taken, sometimes already lost today; Balzer accepts this work as the first in the history of Polish law" (PSB).
