Ethica Aristotelica, ad sacrarum literarum normam emendata.

Ejusdem Ethica Christiana, seu Explicatio virtutum et vitiorum, quorum in sacris literis fit mentio; cum triplici indice accuratissimo, uno librorum & capitum, altero locorum scripturae citatorum & explicatorum, tertio materiarum quae in utraque Ethica tractantur. Selenoburgi (Amsterdam 1650?). Sumptibus Asteriorum, Typis Venetis. (21 x 16 cm), f. [43], p. 248, 674, f. [38] bound in period sc.
(Estr. T. 14). Aristotle's Ethics and Christian Ethics as understood by one of the most prominent Socinian writers, John Crellius (1590-1633). The scholar was active for nearly 20 years in Rakov; he was a preacher, professor and finally rector of the Rakov school. Crellius authored numerous works, almost exclusively theological, defending or developing Socinian principles. His works provoked numerous and fierce polemics in Europe. In the collection Bibliotheca Fratrumm Polonorum, Volume 9, I find many of his writings. Exlibris, rubbing of binding, loss of signboard on spine. Good condition. Very rare. 1491.
