Pre-war edition of the text of the April Constitution Act, which granted broad powers to the President of the Republic of Poland, making him the head of all state bodies, responsible for the fate of the country to God and history. Among other things, the president could appoint the prime minister, dissolve parliament and appoint his successor. The opposition criticized the constitution for restricting democracy. It was the legal basis for the actions of the Polish authorities in exile after 1945. In front of the title page pasted-in card with facsimile of the signature of Warsaw's President Stefan Starzynski. A beautiful publication from the typographic point of view, written in Adam Półtawski's antiqua.
