A comprehensive collection of episcopal circulars and decrees of church authorities from January 10, 1833 - to December 18, 1845 intended for or relating to the Diocese of Brno in Moravia [Bohemia].
One of them is a circular issued on August 18, 1845 by Bishop Anton Ernst , asking for a collection to help the people of Galicia who were affected by the worst flood in recent years on July 17-19, 1845 by the flooding of the Skava, Biała, Vistula, San and Dunajec rivers.
The ordinances contained in the collection cover, among other things, theological issues, we can also find here news about the imperial court, a lot of information about education, inheritance law , statistical data, ordinances exempting church and state institutions from postal fees, taxation of the clergy and much more. Also of interest are circulars on the accurate and reliable maintenance of parish records, especially birth certificates with an emphasis on accurate certification of noble status.
