Jan MarcinSzancer (b.1902 ) - Polish graphic artist, illustrator of books for children, friend and collaborator of Jan Brzechwa. He is the author of illustrations for more than 200 books, including Andersen's Fairy Tales, Mr. Kleks Academy, Mr. Doremi and his seven daughters, Brzechwa's children, Za król Jelonka, Tuwim's Locomotive, O krasnoludki i o sierotka Marysi Konopnickiej, Pinocchio and many, many others. Millions of Polish children grew up on his magical illustrations.
