Good condition (binding after professional conservation, restored leather fragments on the spine, traces of foxing on some of the pages).
An illustrated history of Poland in the 18th and 19th centuries. Published as a supplement to the three-volume edition of La Pologne. Stalorites depict portraits of famous personalities of the period, including: Jan Sobieski, Tadeusz Rejtan, Henryk Dabrowski, Józef Poniatowski or Zofia Zamoyska. In addition to portraits, there are also engravings with views of cities (Warsaw, Cracow, Tyniec), battle plans or images of coins.
The whole book is published in a luxurious binding by Wincenty Kisiel - a bookbinder who emigrated to Paris after the November Uprising, where he took up book binding. He is considered one of the greatest masters of Polish bookbinding.
