Przyjaciel Dzieci - a Polish weekly magazine of an educational and upbringing nature intended for young people, published from 1851-1914 in Warsaw. It was one of the most important magazines of its kind published in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Since 1871 it came out with a supplement "Children's World" intended for younger children.

The "Children's Friend" published articles on historical, biographical, sightseeing and scientific subjects (the "Natural Science and Scientific Storytelling" section, edited by Adam Wiślicki, among others). The magazine had an elaborate fiction section with poetry and prose, generally of a moralistic nature, although some works also had literary qualities; Wladyslawa Izdebska, Wladyslaw Belza, Jadwiga Papi, among others, collaborated with the section. The editors also took care of a high editorial and graphic level, collaborating with Franciszek Kostrzewski, Juliusz Kossak and Wojciech Gerson, among others.

The content of the magazine was in line with the cultural changes taking place at the time and new trends in education. "The Children's Friend" played an important role in homeschooling under conditions of restrictions on the school curriculum in the Russian partition, shaping civic attitudes and providing knowledge of Polish history and geography.
