Luxurious binding by Helena Karpinska (signed with bound HK monogram and ex-libris); stained parchment in powder pink, embossed and gilded floral ornaments arranged in four rows on the face of the cover, alternating with a branch to the left and right, the whole closed with a compositionally gilded bordure; spine divided into four unequal fields, gilded titulature in one, recurring floral motif in the others; upper page trim stained, decorated lining. The binding is listed in the Wrocław Catalog (Oprawy artystyczne Heleny Karpińskiej, Muz. Narodowe we Wrocławiu, 1983) and shown there as item no. 68.
The book comes from the private collection of bookbinder - Helena Karpinska (ex-libris on the front cover).
Catalog from the exhibition held in Paris between May 20 and August 15, 1931, dedicated to the art of the book. The catalog is divided into two parts. The first covering domestic book art (including children's literature, ex-librises, bindings, typographic typefaces); the second part, preceded by an introduction by French writer and art critic Clément-Janin, presents art books from all over Europe, including Italy, Austria, Yugoslavia, the USSR, the Benelux countries and Poland.
