"CAPTAIN ŻBIK" - A series of Polish comic books, the main character of which is Jan Żbik, captain of the Civic Militia. The comic was published in 1968-1982, by the "Sport and Tourism" publishing house. Fifty-three issues were published as part of the series. Many of the pieces we offer at auction are UNIQUE on the collector's market for the simple reason, the comic books were "read" by the youth of the time and few have survived to this day....

On the other hand, Wildcat's personality is an amalgamation of traits of many officers I knew and worked with," Krupka explains the circumstances of Wildcat's "birth" and goes on to say:"We decided to create an unambiguously good character. In fact, a somewhat official character came out of it, and today I regret that we did not make him more ordinary.
