"Dr. Burdecki (1904-1991) was a renowned pre-World War II philosopher, astronomer and mathematician. He also gained a well-deserved reputation as a Catholic writer and a tireless popularizer of scientific and technical thought. Due to the anti-communist overtones of his achievements, Felix Burdecki was condemned to oblivion in the People's Republic. Thus, not only was his original historiosophical concept of the Energy of History (linking the development of mankind with the conscious use of energy resources) no longer revisited, but also a veil of silence was let down on his outstanding scientific achievements (he was, among other things, a collaborator of Irene Jolliot-Curie and Jean-Baptiste Perrin), his pioneering studies related to radio and television in Poland, his editorial and journalistic activities (he was, among others.Among other things, he was the editor of "Przełom" and "Ster"), as well as his contribution to the development of Polish fantasy-science literature (before the war, his novel "Babel" was widely discussed, in which he prophesied, among other things, the universality of television, the landing of man on the moon and the institutionalization of European integration). Feliks Burdecki's work was always of a Catholic nature, which is emphasized both by biographical studies related to his person and by the memories of his relatives who are still alive. The content of the book corresponds to the contemporary state of his astronomical knowledge, and its value is increased by the fact that the author, in matters of dispute, tries to present the existing theories in science as objectively as possible. Throughout the book we can see great love and reverence for the geniuses of astronomical knowledge."
