Monumental edition of an album featuring photographs of Polish landscapes, monuments and architecture by the most prominent Polish photographers of the interwar period. The album contains about 1,500 photographs, including a very large collection of works by Jan Bulhak, as well as photographs by Z. Marcinkowski, J. Jaroszyński and H. Poddębski.
The album presents cultural monuments and the most beautiful corners of Poland, including the provinces of Warsaw, Lodz, Kielce, Lublin, Bialystok, Pomerania, Poznan, Silesia, Lviv, Stanislaw, Ternopil, Volyn, Polesie, Vilnius and Novogrod. Separate sections are devoted to Warsaw, Cracow and the Tatra Mountains.
Each of the 1,446 photographs is accompanied by captions in four languages and extensive explanations in a separate section. The descriptions of the photographs are accompanied by articles by such figures as A. Janowski, A. Lauterbach, J. Kłos, W. Miedniak, M. Orłowicz, M. Zaruski, W. Woydyno, T. Szydłowski, J. Remer, T. Kunzek and A. Wisłocki, while the captions to the photographs themselves were compiled by W. Dzwonkowski and A. Karczewski.
