Jerzy Seweryn Borkowski (1856-1908) was a politician, herald, literary and social activist. He came from the Borkowski family h. Swan. He graduated from law school in Vienna and later took over the family estate. He was a member of the Vienna Council of State, was active in heraldic and genealogical organizations, published articles and wrote poems and novellas. He was actively involved in social activities, funding schools, the chapel in the Lychakiv cemetery and the church in Szczutkow. His works were on heraldry and genealogy. He died in 1908 in Myńsk and was buried in Lviv. [PSB]
